Collage Series

Manouchehr Niazi's collages are a wide range of the multi-pieced and connected world of Niazi's works. In terms of expression, these collages either contain coins or are a combination of locks and keys and other elements. These collages are stuck on the canvas or sometimes even behind a matchbox. It should be noted that the use of elements such as locks and keys was important for many artists of the Saqqakhana school in the 60s and 70s. For them, these collages mean the combination of Iranian and national elements with modern and contemporary art. In the traditional historical classifications of art, Manouchehr Niazi is not classified as a Saqqakhana artist, but he has also witnessed many efforts, failures and ups and downs of contemporary Iran, and therefore the use of collage and composition is not a temporary way to express Iranian life, but a real way of contemporary life and perception towards Iran and Iranians.
